Upscaling

Enhance image and video resolution with Topaz, Clarity, Flux, Magnific, and Hylope workflows.

Upscaling increases resolution and restores or invents detail using specialized enhancement models. You can run image or video inputs (provider-dependent).

For pricing, see the Pricing page. Family-level detail: Upscale Providers.

Clarity

Model Type
Crystal Upscaler Image
Crystal Video Upscaler Video

Fast, cost-effective batch-friendly path. Image path supports creativity / output format controls.

Flux (video)

FLUX Video Upscale supports 1.5x, 2x, and 3x video enlargement. Its Creative toggle stays directly visible: turn it off for a precise pass, or on for prompt-guided detail reconstruction. Sources can be up to 20 seconds and 2560 x 1440 in either orientation; output is capped at 13.75 megapixels.

Magnific

Model Approach
Magnific Creative Prompt-aware creative detail
Magnific Precision V1 Faithful upscale
Magnific Precision V2 Latest precision (sharpen, smart grain, ultra detail, flavor)

Hylope (video)

First-party creative video upscaling (shown as Hylope in the provider picker):

Model Notes
Creative Upscaler 1.0 Re-renders the clip at a chosen output size, adding detail

It is an enhancer rather than a multiplier: instead of a scale factor you choose an output size (720p or 1080p) and a Creativity level from 0 to 6 — 0 stays closest to the source, 6 gives the model the most latitude to add detail.

The clip’s length is read from the source rather than set by hand, and shown on the duration pill in the prompt bar. Longer clips are trimmed to what the workflow can render in one pass; the source card says so before you generate.

When to use which

  • Topaz — Maximum control for restoration or premium video
  • Clarity — Cost-effective image/video volume
  • Flux — Precise or prompt-guided video enlargement
  • Magnific Creative — Add / invent detail (AI art, soft sources)
  • Magnific Precision — Stay close to the original
  • Hylope — Integrated video upscale without leaving Create

Tips

  • Upscale after you are happy with the creative generation
  • Compare in the lightbox before/after
  • Video jobs need accurate source duration / fps for good estimates
  • Autopilot (where offered) picks sensible Topaz defaults; advanced panels expose face enhance, denoise, grain, etc.
